Subject: File sharing issue with maven-deploy using wagon

I'm having an issue with sftp using the wagon plugin. When I try to deploy to our company repository, I'm getting the following error:

The file, along with all the files from the prior build, is owned by my coworker, but the file and directory permissions are set to 777. If I ssh to the server, with the same username/password used by maven, I can edit, delete, etc to any file in the directory. 
 
Has anyone encountered this at all?
