Description

It would be helpful if projects could be deployed over webdav without requiring the build extensions.
What is the reason why the deploy plugin can't automatically use webdav?

The experimental branch https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/wagon/branches/wagon-http-with-webdav
has added WebDAV support to the heavyweight wagon-http provider.

Hopefully this wagon-http provider can make it into the standard distribution as part of the MNG-2664 effort
