1) Hitting all layers is by design (well all layers that are infoable).
2) Bounding box to intersection fix already requested

Richard what exactly do you mean by "hitting all layer", is infoable being respected?

Hitting all info able layers is by design, udig 255 captures the bounding box issue.

Now if it is a specific problem with info and wms we will need to take that up with the wms renderer.
