When new data stores are added (e.g. shapefile) the local registry is not automaticaly updated, giving the impression that the addition failed.

Would also like to say that when the Registry IS refreshed, the tree is collapsed, forcing the user to manually expand interesting ones again.

The local registry is also hidden by default behind the properties view ...
