Last drawn line is not displayed when select the tool to add a new line

Description

There are problem in displaying new lines in a shapefile:
1. use a line layer
2. add a new line
3. exit the add new line tool using the selection tool
4. do nothing
5. reselect the add new line tool icon to draw a new line
6. the previous drawn line disappears
7. if you exit the add new line tool and to a zoom or a pan the line is there

Sometimes doing these operations you can not even use the add new feature tool, and have to save the layer and come back to select the add new feature tool to go on with the editing.
