I've been having issues with exports of my udig based application. Whenever I run the application from a filepath containing a space character, it behaves incorrectly. It fails to render a geotiff and does not pick up my styles (defined in sld files). However, whith no spaces in the filepath, it behaves fine. I believe that when there's a space, it is not finding the jre that is exported with the application.

Has anyone here experienced a similar issue? Did you manage to solve the problem?

Just an update on this one guys; GeoTools DataUtilities.urlToFile( URL ) contains many many fixes for this kind of thing. Basically we decided that we could not police all the possible ways in which people create URLs in the wild. So we decided to have a look at all the possible mistakes *just* before it is converted to a File and have updated all the shapefile and other code to make use of this utility method.

I have updated new ID( URL ) to make use of this method - and UDIG-467 is an example of where introducing the use of ID allows the problem to be fixed.
