Description

This patch will add a new plugin called net.refraction.udig.plugins that allows uDig to properally load and save it's workspace when run as a plugin to another RCP. It calls some methods from the UDIGApplication class so I had to modify the permissions on those function to allow this to work. This patch is against the 1.1.x branch but should also work on the trunk.

Nifty; can you just add this to the existing *net.refractions.udig.ui* plugin please? In a sense I would like to treat *net.refraction.udig* plugin as the example application, and treat *net.refractions.udig.ui* as the set of RCP helper classes needed by everyone....

Just noticed that this patch was for 1.1.x and not trunk, as such i won't be able to look into it myself.

Wow, do I get that right? You are able to save a workspace and therefore export it properly to any other pc and there load it?

Sorry Antonello, this just allows the current uDig automatic load, save cycle to function when uDig is a plugin to another RCP.

We have now decided to move all the startup code from UDIGApplication into this start up hook and then move the startup hook in the the udig.ui plugin.

The startup_trunk.patch is the new patch to address this issue and it works on the trunk.

quick comment to let you know this has not been forgotten. I will apply after the 1.1 release. I was very tempted to apply it but it makes slightly too big of a change for me to be completely comfortable applying it now.
