Description

Using sonar-ws-client we can automatically configure Sonar installation (sonar.jdbc.driver, sonar.jdbc.url, sonar.jdbc.username, sonar.jdbc.password) by provided URL, username and password.

Bug - A problem which impairs or prevents the functions of the product. SONARJNKNS-165 When calling mvn sonar from jenkins/hudson, the jdbc settings override the settings in sonar

We already thought to implement such feature on Maven side to prevent duplication of DB configuration but that'd be a big security flaw . Indeed everyone would be able to make an HTTP request in order to get those properties including username and password.

We can use username and password (user, not db) to prevent receving such data anonymously.

Another advantage of this feature on Hudson side: we can ask username/password once to receive such settings and store it in hudson.

Ok, so it should be possible to request the Sonar configuration through a secure REST service. The user used to request this service should have had the global role 'Administrators' ... why not !
