Description

This could consist of adding a qualifier column to the project_measures table and record every metric on each language

We have many projects containing both java and sql sources. How do we specifiy the analysis of such projects ? 2 pom.xml, one for each technology, for instance ?
The rendering should include both technologies for such a project, with java or sql rulesets associated with each object.

It's a essential feature. Can't really see the point of analyzing a project using the web module and not be able to analyze at the same time Javascript.

Also it's very typical in J2EE projects to have a module with JSP, Javascript and Java (the frontend with the controllers).

This issue is preventing me from upgrading beyond 2.11. I don't see it scheduled for a "fix version"... is this ticket not up to date or is it indeed not scheduled yet?

I knew we couldn't be alone in this need.

THis is a huge gaping hole that may prevent enterprise adoption by our company. The fact that it has 80+ votes after 3 years and no action is very concerning.

Well, we even have 4 sonar languages running for one maven project: web(jsp), xml (pom files, custom xpath rules), xml (web framework specific files, custom xpath rules) and JS. Luckily we have java in a separate maven project. I have created branches for each language to work around the this issue, but that's obviously not very elegant.

I have a similar need as Georg. In addition to the items that Georg listed I'd like to be able to analyze spring config (xml) files and text property files and have the results be presented as one project in Sonar.

Yep, it is the one of the most needed features. We have a set of JavaScipt+Java+JSP projects and another set of С#+JavaScript. It would be really cool to have the results only in one Sonar project.

Continued support for this feature request.

Web: java, velocity (xml), javascript all in one project as an example (with SQL as well).

Grails: java, groovy as another (with SQL also, and the sitemesh templates).

Using tools like http://cloc.sourceforge.net/ help to breakdown your project size by the language type.
