Description

Perforce labels can be optionally locked. The maven-release-plugin creates unlocked labels, however we would like to have the option of locking them.

I will provide a system property you can pass which will enable the label lock. Something like:

mvn -Dmaven.scm.locktag=true release:prepare

Maven SCM uses the term "tag" instead of label.

Is there an easy way to integrate this with the release plugin?

A system property seems fine for using the scm plugin directly. but when using the release plugin, it should really be part of the config there.

I release it will take a while to get into a release with the different components involved. But thanks for the quick feedback.

Added label locking by default. You can turn it off by passing "-Dmaven.scm.locktag=false" on the command line. But since the release plugin is the major tag creator, this seems like a reasonable thing to enable by default.
