Description

from MDEP-68: The use case is deploying unix/linux shared libraries, with symlinks between different versions of the libraries.

The current behaviour is that the symlinks becomes 0 byte sized files.

I think I hit this unpacking openssl 0.9.8k (and other versions of openssl). There are lots of symbolic links in the tarball. Most get created, some don't. Easy to reproduce. Untar with plexus and untar with gnu's tar. Not the same.
