Site generation does not inherit <version> element from parent site.xml

Description

I have a parent project of a multi-module project whose site.xml contains
<publishDate position="left" format="yyyy-MM-dd"/>
<version position="left"/>
The <publishDate> element is properly inherited by the site descriptors of the module POMs, but the <version> element gets dropped so that one needs to manually add it to each site.xml for the modules.

This works for me with maven-site-plugin 2.0-beta-6-SNAPSHOT, but not with 2.0-beta-5.
Can you please try the latest SNAPSHOT?

Indeed, I just downloaded 2.0-beta-6-20070902.014222-2 and the <version> gets inherited as intended.

However, I noticed a lot of warnings like

[WARNING] Velocimacro : VM addition rejected : <macro> : inline not allowed to replace existing VM

If this is unusual for the SNAPSHOT version, just let me know and I will provide more Maven output.

Thanks for checking Benjamin. I'm going to close this issue as fixed then.

We should have fixed the Velocimacro warnings. There are however a couple of snapshots deployed later than the one you have, try the latest one (2.0-beta-6-20070903.214345-4). If you still get these warnings with that version, then please open a new issue for that.
