Hi,
Archiva is a Maven repositories manager so there is two types declared : "Maven 2.x repository" and "Maven 1.x repository".
It could be interesting to add an other type : "Other".
When you select this new type, ARCHIVA have not to test the maven directories structure.
Why this new feature ? To permit to ARCHIVA to manage (user access, ...) an Eclipse update site for example without error (ConsumerException: Invalid path to Artifact).
