there are still several uses of this API, but when dependant issues are completed it should be in a position that it is no longer needed and can be removed

some uses in addition to the above:

  • Keys is used for debug logging in the dependency tree
  • AuditLog, Auditable and AuditListener are used in PlexusActionSupport, AbstractRepositoriesAdminAction and RepositoryScanningAction - revisit how this can be made an event for the audit logging plugin to consume
  • ManagedRepositoryContent in the ShowArtifactAction
  • RepositoryListenerFactoryBean is used to set up the current repository listener framework in the webapp initialisation sequence
