Maven 1.x Changelog Plugin

For both subversion (on my project) and I think CVS (see maven changes log) it appears the if the developer had entered comments on multiple lines, eg.

• change 1
• change 2

they are displayed as -change 1 -change 2

Could this be changed so that they are shown as line breaks?
