Thanks for the test project. Can you please clarify if issue is about deploying your web app to the application server or about exporting war file using File / Export... wizard?

I am not sure if we will be able to do anything about export, however you can use "Run as / Maven package" or run "maven package" from the command line to build war.

The issue applies to both deploying to application server and to exporting to war file. Both cases can be workarounded by editing org.eclipse.wst.common.component and removing the test paths:

Initially:
<wb-resource deploy-path="/" source-path="/src/main/java"/>
<wb-resource deploy-path="/" source-path="/src/test/java"/>
<wb-resource deploy-path="/" source-path="/src/main/resources"/>

After:
<wb-resource deploy-path="/" source-path="/src/main/java"/>
<wb-resource deploy-path="/" source-path="/src/main/resources"/>

Apparently, the problem occurs for modules of a parent project in the workspace. For non module projects the following code is working :

      jsrc.removeLink(location, 0, monitor);
    }
  }

Haven't figured out a definitive pattern yet, but it seems test sources & resources are correctly removed from the .component file (On WTP 2.0.3) when updating the project's maven configuration.
