Cannot change output folder in new maven project wizard

Description

-new maven project
-fill in everything until you reach folder selection dialog
-set output folder to "<projectName>>/build/classes" instead of "<projectName>/target/classes"
-> folder target/classes is created nevertheless
-> folder build is created but does not contain classes subfolder

Don't now where compiled classes go now.
