The resulted boundingbox should be displayed by a majoration average 10% or 20% of the extent
Actually the sophisticated answer would be more complex.
At very large scales (very local and detailled) the 10% rule would be fine, but perhaps a bit more would be useful.
Obviously, when getting close to the whole globe, we should zoom out to the whole globe instead of a fixed 10%.
At intermediate values, it would probably be better to zoom out to the next fixed scale:

1:50,000
1:100,000
1:125,000
1:200,000
1:250,000
1:500,000
1:1,000,000
1:5,000,000
