where should I get the 2.2-beta-3 or snapshot of the maven-assembly-plugin ?

I got a error of "appxml attribute is required" while using the format "ear".

in ~~MASSEMBLY-345~~, it says fixed in 2.2-beta-3

How could I ge the 2.2-beta-3 or the snapshot ?

you should checkout the current version from Maven subversion.
It is located here:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/plugins/trunk/maven-assembly-plugin
