The demo works fine for WFS featureTypes. But if I add WMS layers (from my local geoserver 1.5 install), the legend image url is the url of the example web page (.../mapbuilder/OWSExplorer/index.html), and the layer is added to the map with format application/pdf.

Testing with GeoServer 1.6.0-RC1

This looks like a GeoServer issue. There are a few layers that come back with ServiceExceptions such as:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?REQUEST=GetLegendGraphic&VERSION=1.0.0&FORMAT=image/png&WIDTH=20&HEIGHT=20&LAYER=nurc:Img_Sample

returns

<ServiceExceptionReport version="1.1.1">
<ServiceException>
Can't get input stream from URL!
Can't get input stream from URL!
Can't get input stream from URL!
</ServiceException>
</ServiceExceptionReport>

The described problem does not occur any more. After some fixes WRT GetFeatureInfo (r3689), everything in this example seems to work.

works, but is quite similar to contextEditor. Wouldn't it be nice to use OWSContext instead of Web Map Context here, and also add FeatureTypes to the context doc?
