Description

Add the Equidistant Cylindrical map projection.

Code to implement this projection was written by John Grange and commited to trunk by Martin. This jira task is just for book keeping.

Issues to complete:

  • testing
  • parameter confusion (ESRI and Mr. Snyder disagree with the EPSG)
  • add elliptical formulas (equations in EPSG guidebook #7)

At revision 16738, I added a test script (spherical only) and changed the Latitude_of_origin parameter to standard_parallel_1 (to be consistent with ESRI and Mr. Snyder)

This issue can be closed once the eliptical formulas are implemented.

Closing since we have the spherical case. We don't have yet the ellipsoidal case however. If this case is needed and a volunter is available, we can reopen this task.
