Patch looks good for the most part. One question is the built in gml types? For instance TimePositionType and DirectPositionType seem duplicated from the gml model. Is there a reason for this?

Yes ... the main reason is that WCS 1.0 defines a specific GML subset, gml4wcs.xsd , which as far as I remember is a bit different from the original one and I had many difficulties trying to use that one.
