Description

The function EXTENT_OF is deprecated, SDO_AGGR_MBR should be used instead

Oracle seems to have un-deprecated it at 11. The doco for 11.1 and 11.2 have had the deprecation notice removed.

Paul, we already use SDO_TUNE.EXTENT_OF in case you ask for "estimated extents" in the configuration, but as per the Oracle documentation, we don't use it for geodetic data (lat/lon in general). The fallback on SDO_AGG_MBR for geodetic data is obviously quite painful.
