So there's an unfinished CQL tutorial at http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOSDOC/Common+Query+Language+(CQL)+Tutorial+(unfinished) CQL is pretty sweet, and works with WMS as well, so we could have some nice pretty examples of it in action. It shows off the power we have under the hood to really customize maps.
