1. lleuger / petit (a slight increase - un lleuger increment)
2. Someone who is 'slight' is both small and thin. Is there a single adjective in Catalan that covers both ideas? I guess 'petite' would be a synonym though 'petite' generally refers to women only and has slightly more positive connotations.

(if you slight somebody you treat them as if they are not important or do not accord them the respect they feel they deserve)

Sobre "desestimar".

Vaig proposar canviar l'entrada underestimate-desestimar per underestimate-desestimar i es va canviar. Però veig que encara tenim desestimar-underestimate i s'hauria de canviar.

D'acord amb la definició del GDLC:

desestimar
[1490; de estimar]
v tr 1 1 No tenir estima (a algú o alguna cosa).
2 Tenir en poc, estimar (algú o alguna cosa) en menys del que val.
2 esp Negar-se a prendre en consideració (una petició, una instància, un recurs, etc).

l'equivalència desestimar-underestimate seria possible d'acord amb l'accepció 1-2. Però la veritat és que en el meu ús les accepcions 1-1 i 1-2 són inexistents. Per a mi desestimar és un terme formal usat en dret o en política per a dir "denegar, rebutjar" (to reject, to rule out).

Ah yes, we were discussing the English verb 'underestimate' at the time. When we left that discussion, we had come to the conclusion that:

'Les entrades "underestimate - desestimar " (i viceversa) són incorrectes. Hauria de ser: underestimate - v. infravalorar n. infravaloració infravalorar - underestimate'. Unfortunately, whilst that dealt with 'underestimate' and 'infravalorar', nowhere in the thread that followed did we manage to come up with a suitable equivalent for 'desestimar' and so I didn't change its entry. Now we have an equivalent, I will go and change it.
