Description
verb
definition from GDLC: Cantar una canēó, una melodia, etc., sense dir-ne les paraules.
I guess this means to sing 'tum te tum te tum te tum....' (or whatever Catalans sing in such situations) instead of the actual words of a song?
I also note that we are missing 'cantussejar':
Cantar a mitja veu
Is this 'to sing softly' in English?
The two English-Catalan dictionaries on my bookshelf give both verbs as 'to hum' in English. I am not convinced that this is correct though as, to me at least, when you hum you must have your mouth closed. Do you 'taral- l(ar)ejar' and 'cantussejar' with your mouth closed???
Quan taral- leges o taral- lareges, cantes precisament "taral- larą". To tra-la-la or to la-la-la?
