Description

outlet ***
n 1. sortida
2. endoll
3. desguàs
4. outlet

I think meaning 4 would be Termcat's 'centre comercial de fabricants' rather than 'punt de venda'. I am happy to add Termcat's 'centre comercial de fabricants' but, at least on Google, its use seems very low compared to '(centre) outlet' and, assuming the use of '(centre) outlet' is relatively high, I would like English speakers to at least be aware of this. (Our policy has always been, provide English speakers with whatever official term Termcat suggests but, especially in cases where this term has yet to become widely used, also let them know what other terms are in widespread use). This way learners are made aware of the official terms and encouraged to use them but also warned 'whilst this term is recommended, the average man in the street may actually have some difficulty understanding what you're talking about if you use it - at least until it gains more widespread acceptance'.

Whilst I agree that 'agència' and 'sucursal' are both acceptable equivalents for 'outlet', I would not necessarily include the example 'agència de notícies' > 'news outlet' as I think 'news agency' and 'news service' are far more common in English than 'news outlet'.
