to go berserk

I thought about suggesting perdre els estreps, enrabiar-se or enutjar-se for the sense of somebody going berserk with anger but then I wasn't sure what to put for the idea 'to go beserk with joy or enthusiasm' (i.e. 'The singer came on stage and the crowd went berserk'). 'Tornar-se boig d'alegria'? Perhaps we could have a definition which covers everything:

reaccionar davant una situaciķ de forma descontrolada (sigui amb rābia o sigui amb entusiasme)

and then a couple of examples (the one above and 'I don't dare tell my dad what I've done because he'll go berserk')??

What do people prefer?
