I must admit that when I saw the entry 'gouge' > 'gúbia', I had to look at a few online dictionaries to convince myself that there was in fact such a thing as an implement called a 'gouge'. It would appear that there is (I guess I've just never come across one before).

However, I would suggest that we also add another two, perhaps more frequent, meanings of 'gouge' as a noun which would be:

1. 'a groove or deep hole in a surface'
(e.g. 'There's a big gouge in this wall').

2. the noun resulting from meaning number 3 which Jaume gives for the verb (extorsionar / extorquir / estafar)
(e.g. 'Gas gouge continues despite oil price drops')
