Description
Linda just mentioned finding a redback spider in the children's sandbox. What is this called in Catalan? An area/box full of sand, in the garden or a children's playground, where small children play.
The word seems to vary in English: I'd call it a sandpit and Jonathan would call it a sandpile.
Gill,
It may be that you already found the answer to this question, I know it's an old one, but I came across the Catalan word 'sorral' in the missing words list a few weeks ago and a search in the DIEC2, followed by a Google image search to confirm, suggest that both 'sorral' and 'sorrera' are the words we were after.
