I don't think so:
same family but different genus and species
Melanogrammus aeglefinus - haddock
Gadus morhua - cod = bacallà

If you go to a chippie, you can order either cod or haddock - not the same thing.
Isn't haddock eglefí? eglefins (pl.)

Sí, segons el Termcat és eglefí. Ara, no és sobrer dir en una nota que és de la família del bacallà, perquè eglefí és un peix poc habitual per als catalans.
