Friendly

Doncs, precisament "amigable" és el que proposa el Termcat. ¿Per què no és adequat usar-lo?

Segons el DLC:

amigable
adj. [LC] Que obra, que té lloc, per via de conciliació. Amigable componedor. Partició amigable.

Jo no li veig la relació amb "friendly" tret que tant "amigable" com "friendly" deriven de "amic" i "friend", respectivament.

A més de la definició de user-friendly, especialment adreçada a l'entorn informàtic i que només diu "senzill, fàcil d'usar", al Cambridge:

agradable
adj. [LC] Que agrada, que fa plaer. Un so agradable. Un gust o un sabor agradable. Té un aspecte agradable. Una companyia agradable.

amable
1 **no és el cas i mai l'he vist usat amb aquest sentit**
2 adj. [LC] De natural plaent, afectuós. Amb mi sempre és molt amable.

It looks as though amigable = amicable, which is not quite the same as friendly. It is usually applied to a mutually acceptable agreement of some sort: "Their divorce was quite amicable - they still have lunch together once a week."

So "user-friendly" (for computer operating systems, software, and by extension all sorts of other things) would be agradable???

A friendly match (usually just called a friendly) is an amistós, no? As in Barça won their friendly against Heart of Midlothian, although TV3 insisted that they were playing "Hearts of Midlothian".
