Description
adj.
Has anybody got any ideas for English 'equivlents' for this adjective?
At the moment we have 'to demand / to claim' for the verb 'reivindicar' but I'm not sure how to tackle the adjective.
Here's the sentence I came across the other day in an article in Avui:
L'acte [...] va comptar amb les intervencions del sociòleg Salvador Cardús analític i reivindicatiu; del director de Vilaweb hiperrealista i esperonador; de Mercè Teodoro, advocada de l'ACPV descriptiva[...]
I understand what it means, obviously, but I'm not sure how to put it in English.
Some more examples from Google:
La cloenda del Correllengua 2006 pretén ser una jornada commemorativa, festiva i reivindicativa, que començarà a les 12 del matí.
Comunicat arran de l'acció reivindicativa duta a terme al pavelló de Fontajau
Web no oficial i reivindicativa del tramvia a Catalunya
Perhaps 'protest' in the first two examples? (a day of protest, protest action). I'm not sure about the third example or the one about Salvador Cardús though. I'll keep thinking throughout today but if anybody comes up with any suggestions I'd be keen to hear them.
Perhaps "activist"?
