I know, this is an old issue but, as I recall, we only ever got as far as dealing with number 1 ('terminal')...

2. (I'm still not entirely sure what this is)
3. tiltyard
4. square in medieval Barcelona where jousting tournaments were held. The word is still used in the expression 'roda el món i torna al Born'
(any suggestions for an English equivalent of this expression?)

4. Is not quite right. Plaça del Born is still there in Barcelona, and it is of medieval origin. (Barcelona antiga in the Catalan def. probably means just 'the old part of Barcelona'; I'm not sure whether the Plaça del Born is literally part of the Barri Gòtic.

Max, you are right. I wanted to mean that this square is (not was, of course) in the old quarter or part of Barcelona. Plaça del Born is in Barri de Ribera, East from Via Laietana.
