        noun (m)
        buzzard (BrE) / hawk (AmE)
        aligot comú - common buzzard

        I defer to your superior knowledge completely on this one Gill as I know very little about birds other than they've got wings and beaks and Australian ones are very, very noisy, I'm purely basing my suggestion on what I found in Wikipedia:

        Yes, Linda, it looks from that Wikipedia entry as though buzzards are called hawks in the US.

        Confusingly, what we call hawks are from a different family.
