I've never really understood exactly what a grant-maintained school was so I looked it up in Wikipedia. Apparently, they were abolished back in 1998. Perhaps we just stick with 'subsidized' for 'concertat' then?

An example of a "centre concertat" is Les Alzines, the Opus Dei-run girls' school in Girona. It receives some state funding and from time to time there is "muttering" about this, as in theory it means they are supposed to admit anyone but of course in practice ... |
