As it stands currently, some parts of the mapping file are broken (e.g. <complexType> bindings), In addition, our use of XPATH expressions is somewhat inconsistent, and needs to be unified.

All of this will happen under the umbrella of this issue.

Initial patch, holding some suggested changes to ExtendedBinding to unify the use of leading slashes in the XPATH statements used within a binding file.

Please note that I have not bothered to test this against CTF, as I'd like to have a discussion first on the usefulness and the approach chosen.
