Steps to reproduce:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/eclipse/jetty/server/Handler
at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredConstructors0(Native Method)
at java.lang.Class.privateGetDeclaredConstructors(Class.java:2389)
at java.lang.Class.getConstructor0(Class.java:2699)
at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Class.java:326)
at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Class.java:308)
at org.eclipse.jetty.servlet.Holder.newInstance(Holder.java:157)
at org.eclipse.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.initServlet(ServletHolder.java:407)

Now, I try the same with jetty-distribution-7.2.1.v20101111 and I also try deployments and it all works perfectly. My only suggestion would therefore be to upgrade to Jetty 7.2.1.

Just committed revision 2591, that might help.

Can you please download the latest WAR from http://ci.repository.codehaus.org/org/codehaus/cargo/cargo-jetty-7-and-onwards-deployer/1.0.6-SNAPSHOT/ and try again?

Well, http://bamboo.ci.codehaus.org/browse/CARGO shows that build is still in progress... You can either wait a bit more or compile it for yourself

Revision 2606 of CARGO (Jetty container + Jetty 7 remote deployer) works both with http://download.eclipse.org/jetty/7.1.6.v20100715/dist/jetty-distribution-7.1.6.v20100715.tar.gz and http://download.eclipse.org/jetty/7.2.2.v20101205/dist/jetty-distribution-7.2.2.v20101205.tar.gz

This issue is now resolved.
